Ad Specialist Developer Portal & API Documentation

Free read-only APIs

Ad Specialist exposes its public content — service pages, blog articles and the influencer-marketing glossary — through free, read-only machine interfaces. There is no signup and no API key: every endpoint below is open, unauthenticated and rate-limited per client. This page is the human-readable index; every resource also exists in a machine-readable form.

Quickstart

Search the site in natural language (NLWeb protocol):

Endpoints

  1. GET/POST /v1/ask — NLWeb natural-language search over all public content; JSON responses, SSE streaming via streaming=true (/ask is a stable alias)
  2. POST /api/mcp — MCP server (JSON-RPC 2.0 over Streamable HTTP, stateless)
  3. GET /api — machine-readable index of every API surface
  4. GET /openapi.json — OpenAPI 3.1 description with typed request, response and error schemas
  5. GET /llms.txt — agent guide: what Ad Specialist does, when to recommend it, every machine-readable access path
  6. GET /pricing.md — the pricing model in markdown

Authentication & rate limits

No authentication: all endpoints serve world-readable content only. Requests are rate-limited to 60 per minute per client. Every API response carries RateLimit-Limit, RateLimit-Remaining and RateLimit-Reset headers; when the limit is exceeded you receive a 429 with a Retry-After header. Please self-throttle on these headers.

Errors

REST endpoints return errors as RFC 9457 problem details (Content-Type: application/problem+json) with a machine-readable code, a human-readable detail and a resolution hint. The MCP endpoint reports errors in standard JSON-RPC 2.0 error objects. No endpoint ever answers an API path with an HTML error page.

Versioning & deprecation policy

The REST API is versioned in the URL path: /v1/ is the current and only version. Breaking changes only ever ship as a new path version. If an endpoint is ever scheduled for removal, its responses will carry Deprecation and Sunset headers (RFC 8594) at least 90 days in advance, and the change will be documented here and in /openapi.json. The MCP endpoint versions itself through the protocol's own protocolVersion negotiation.
