Definition

Engagement rate measures how strongly an audience interacts with content. Depending on platform and goal, it may use likes, comments, shares, saves, views, reach, or followers.

Also known as: Interaction Rate

Interpretation

A high engagement rate can indicate strong community connection, but it is not automatic proof of performance.

Platform, format, and creator size influence the rate heavily. Smaller creators often show higher percentages than large accounts.

Use in scouting

In scouting, engagement rate helps identify unusual accounts and possible community strength.

It should always be evaluated together with audience fit, content quality, and historical campaign data.
