Follower count is the number of accounts following a creator profile. It describes potential base reach but says little about impact on its own: distribution, interaction and purchase intent depend on the algorithm, the format and the quality of the community.

Why the number alone is not enough
Platforms stopped serving content only to followers long ago. A post can reach a multiple of the follower count or a fraction of it.
Creator selection depends on engagement rate, audience overlap and how consistent reach is across several posts.
What we look at instead
Median rather than average of recent posts, because single outliers distort the picture.
Share of the target audience by country, age and interest, cross-checked against the creator's own insights.
