Impressions
The number of times content or an ad is delivered.
Definition
Impressions count how often content or advertising was delivered. One person can generate multiple impressions by seeing the same content several times.
Also known as: Ad Impressions, Views
Difference from reach
Reach counts people or accounts reached, while impressions count deliveries. If impressions are much higher than reach, the same audience was reached repeatedly.
For awareness, repetition can be useful. For efficiency comparisons, the reporting base must be clear.
Use in reporting
Impressions are a base for CPM, CTR, and frequency evaluation.
On their own, they say little about impact. They become useful with attention, engagement, and conversion signals.
