Video views is the number of times a video was played. The threshold differs substantially between platforms, from a few seconds to a meaningful share of total runtime. Comparing platforms without stating the counting method is therefore not reliable.

## Why the counting method decides

What one platform counts as a view can sit far below the threshold on another.

Comparing platforms requires a shared basis, for example plays with a defined minimum duration.

## What we measure alongside

Retention and average watch time say more about creative quality than the raw counter.

For revenue questions what counts is the link to clicks and conversions, not the view count.
